Overwatch Halloween Terror Event is Finally Live
Overwatch Halloween Terror is this year’s Overwatch Halloween event.
With Overwatch Patch 1.41 comes the Halloween even that gives us emotes, voice lines, and of course, skins. The event release was a tad bit delayed, but Blizzard made it worth the wait, giving us probably the best set of Halloween skins ever.
Also with patch 1.41 comes some buffs and nerfs. Here’s the breakdown.
Massive Buff for D.Va’s Defense Matrix: Regeneration increased from 12.5% per second to 16% per second! It’s also the delay before regen starts decreased from 1 second to .75 seconds.
Buff for Mercy’s Valkyrie: Extra Valkyrie beams can now go throw enemy barriers.
Buff for Winston’s Barrier: Barrier duration increased from 6 seconds to 9 seconds. Barrier’s health is also increased from 600 to 700.

Nerf for Baptiste’s Immortality Field: The health of the Immortality Field has been reduced from 250 to 200.
Nerf for Moira’s Biotic Grasp: Self healing was reduced from 30 to 20 health per second.
Nerf for Doomfist’s Rocket Punch: charge time to reach max charge was increased from 1 second to 1.4 seconds; Doomfist’s The Best Defense shield health gained per hit was reduced from 35 to 30.
Nerfs for Sigma All Around:
Kinetic Grasp no longer blocks Chain Hook and Whip Shot.
Gravity Flux’s high gravity effect duration reduced from 1.2 to 0.9 seconds.
Experimental Barrier’s regeneration rate was reduced from 175 to 150 per second, has a 1 second cooldown after recalling the barrier, but the initial 0.2 second cast time has been removed.
Overwatch Comes to Nintendo Switch
Also, Blizzard released Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch. The free launch event for Overwatch’s debut on the Switch was scheduled for October 16 at New York’s Nintendo Store but was canceled by Blizzard.
No word has been given as to why the event, which would allow the first 150 fans who signed up to meet with Overwatch voice actors, was canceled. It’s possible the event was canceled due to ongoing protests against Blizzard Activision for, what many believe to be them siding with China when Blizzard suspended Hearthstone Grandmaster Blitzchung.
Either way, the Halloween skins for this year’s event are amazing! Nevermind Zenyatta walking in the promos; Orisa finally got some skin love! What’s your favorite Halloween skin?
