First Impression

The Audeze Mobius is a gaming headset for adult gamers who refuse to sacrifice either audio quality or style. The exterior design is sophisticated, modern, and simplistic enough to work with any gaming setup.

Mobius is very comfortable and snug, with memory foam ear cups and headbands. For gamers with a larger head, the memory foam may take a little time to adjust to your head’s parameters. They’re fairly lightweight because of their plastic base but are very sturdy and well-constructed.

Audeze is the first brand to use planar magnetic drivers for a gaming headset, using magnetic fields to generate sounds more accurately. And this technology is what sets the audio bar incredibly high for gaming headphones. There are gaming headphones that sound great. And there’s the Audeze experience. And it’s not just gaming that’s elevated with Mobius, but the music becomes even more pleasurable through these headphones.

Buttons and Functions

On the left earcup, Mobius has separate control buttons for power, microphone mute, headset volume, microphone volume, and 3D audio. Hold the power button for three seconds to power Mobius on. Double tap the power button to toggle through different modes: Bluetooth, USB, and audio jack.

To calibrate your headset for perfect 3D sound, look straight ahead and press the 3D button to center your headset. Hold the 3D button to toggle through the 3D modes— 3D manual and 3D auto.

While listening to music, you can press the headset volume wheel and then scroll up or down to skip songs. The microphone volume wheel toggles through equalizer preset default, flat, footsteps, ballistics, music, racing, RPG, and warm.

Audeze Mobius One Year Later

After one year, Mobius still provides an unmatched immersive gaming experience. Hearing the direction footsteps are coming from, hearing subtle sounds that normally go unnoticed, and being able to detect the direction more accurately from which Genji is spamming “I need healing” in Overwatch—create such a valuable audio gaming experience. In The Division and The Division 2, you can hear action taking place blocks away in such a realistic way. If you didn’t appreciate in-game audio before, the Mobius experience will bring sound appreciation to the forefront.

The detachable mic still sounds the same as on the first day of use. The mic quality holds up to Audeze’s reputation as a designer of some of the best audio equipment in the game.

Mobius, Penrose, LCD-GX, and the newly designed Maxwell are Audeze’s gaming headphone lineup. The Penrose is made specifically for consoles, while Mobius and LCD-GX are made specifically for PC. Maxwell has a headset design for each console and PC.
