Hades meets Disgaea in Blade Prince Academy, a new tactical RPG
Firesquid Reveals Demo and Kickstarter Campaign for Tactical RPG Blade Prince Academy
Firesquid Games, in partnership with Angel Corp, has launched a demo for Blade Prince Academy, a tactical RPG game featuring an anime art style and real-time with pause combat. Players can now try out the game's demo on Steam, which includes over an hour of gameplay, four missions, and a boss battle. The demo takes players through the dark and magical city of Abjectalia and encourages them to create a team of diverse Blade Princes to achieve balance on the battlefield.
The game's main feature is the ability to create powerful combo attacks in battle using ‘true real-time with pause.’ By manipulating the order and timing of each attack, players can dodge enemy spells, use the environment to their advantage, or push their opponents into a disadvantageous position.
Blade Prince Academy's Kickstarter campaign aims to grow the game's community and create more content for players. Backers will be rewarded with perks such as a discount on the game, access to digital goodies, direct involvement in the development, and exclusive information about the game's future. The team plans to bring new heroes, bosses, and more missions to the game through the Kickstarter campaign.
The game's Talent Tree feature allows players to manage upgrades and unlock skills to improve the Princes. As players gain more experience, they will earn access to more powerful spells. Heroes can also be endowed with Pacts, granting them both negative and positive effects. This system innovates in the accumulation of Pacts, allowing for the development of powerful yet flawed heroes.
Players can assemble a squad of different heroes, each with their own unique strengths, weaknesses, and backstories. The choices made throughout the game will impact the Blade Princes and how they feel about each other, affecting their lives as well as the best strategy to adopt. Players can also equip characters with the game's arsenal of spells to find the perfect strategy for the missions ahead. The game features challenging boss fights that require players to have complete mastery of the combat system.
